Meet the Shorelings — a wonderfully weird bunch of handmade clay creatures, each with a personality of their own. Sculpted by ceramic artist John O’Brien, glazed with personality, and fired into something completely their own. No two are ever exactly alike.

Catrin Saltmere carries a calm that settles over the shoreline like a held breath. She has a gift for sensing the exact moment when the tide pauses between its coming and going, and she treats that stillness with quiet reverence. Catrin moves with deliberate care, never disturbing more than she must, as though she’s honoring an unspoken pact with the sea.
She’s observant in a way that feels almost intuitive—catching the faintest shift in water clarity, the softest tremor in the sand, the subtle hush that means the tide is ready to turn. When others grow restless, Catrin steadies them with a gentle word or a calm glance, reminding them that not every moment needs motion to matter.
Her strength lies in her patience, her ability to hold space for quiet things, and her unwavering belief that stillness has its own kind of power.
Catrin Saltmere is a one-of-a-kind handmade stoneware creature sculpture, wheel-thrown and hand-sculpted into its own unique form. Each piece begins on the pottery wheel, then is individually shaped and detailed by hand before being kiln-fired for strength and character.
